At Glengarry Primary School, we are empowered learners and respectful community members who embrace challenge and celebrate growth

Glengarry Primary School is a rural school of approximately 140 students, located only a short drive from Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland, Victoria.

Our school was established in 1888 and is situated in the middle of the community orientated township of Glengarry. We are proud to be an integral part of the Glengarry and district community with our student population drawn primarily from the township of Glengarry and its surrounding towns.

`We are empowered learners, respectful community members, who embrace challenge and celebrate growth” is the vision of school.

Staff at the school, work together in PLC and learning teams to build strong and collaborative practice – learning with and from one another.

Glengarry is a proud community that is supportive of our local school. There are sporting facilities within the town which cater for football, netball and tennis. Building positive relationships with students and their families is highly valued by all. Our motto, `Partners in Success’ emphasises this commitment to build positive relationships with our families to ensure each child is successful.

Our school values of `Respect, Resilience, Collaboration, Progress and Joy’ underpin everything we do.

Our school offers a broad range of curriculum programs with a special emphasis on developing the essential skills of Literacy and Numeracy. Students participate in specialist programs, which include health and physical education, kitchen garden, visual arts, and STEM.

The school is part of the Traralgon Rural Schools Cluster for sporting events. There are regular incursions and excursions that are aligned to student learning.
