School Hours & Services


An educational allowance is provided by the State Government for some basic classroom requisites and these are purchased by the school. Other classroom materials are included on the Booklist and are provided as needed throughout the year. Your child will also need;

An art smock –           long sleeved and of strong material, an old shirt is ideal.

A school bag –         Glengarry School bags are available at the Office.

A library bag –           Preps are given one by the Education Department.


OFFICIAL SCHOOL HOURS – 9.00am to 3.30pm


Bag bell                     8.50am

Session 1                  9.00 am – 11.00 am

Recess                       11.00 am – 11.30 am

Session 2                  11.30 am – 1.30 pm

Supervised eating   1.30 pm – 1.40 pm

Lunch Recess          1.40 pm – 2.30 pm

Session 3                  2.30 pm – 3.30 pm


  • Staff are on duty from 8.50 am to 3.40pm each day to supervise children, before 8.50 is teacher preparation time.
  • Children are invited to put their bags in the room at 8.50am and organise themselves ready for the start of the school day, parents are welcome into the room also at this time, You are welcome to make an appointment to see your child’s teacher before or after school.
  • Please do not endeavour to talk to your child’s teacher during class time as their primary responsibility is teaching the children in their care, if there is an important message please call into the school office and the message will be passed onto the teacher.


Youthsaver Accounts with the Commonwealth Bank can be arranged for children wishing to do a weekly banking.   School bank day is Friday. Please see Jenny Jeffs or Kate O’Mara at the office for more information.


This allowance is available to a number of families for books, clothing, excursions etc.

You are eligible if you hold one of the following: Commonwealth Health Cards, the Pensioner Health Benefit Card, the Health Care Card or the Health Benefit Card.

Application must be made at the office at the beginning of Term One and again at the first week of Term Three.


Cheques for any school item or excursion should be made payable to Glengarry Primary School. All money can be given to the office. When you send money to school with your child for a lunch order, an excursion or other reason, please put it in an envelope and write your child’s name and grade on the front and what the money is for. Lopees are available from school for $6 these are reusable envelopes to send money along to school and return receipts in. We do not have credit card facilities. Direct deposit is available.


At the beginning of each year the Glengarry School Council asks for a booklist payment. Information about this is communicated to all families in Term Four.

If you have trouble meeting this commitment in January please contact the School Business Manager or Principal. We have a payment scheme.



Lost property is located near the rear door of the administration building. All items that are removed should be named with a laundry marker so they don’t wash off. Students and parents are welcome to check through items in Lost property at anytime. Items not claimed and unnamed will be disposed of at the end of each term.
